Being the hands and feet of Jesus looks like something.
An update on Praise
Praise is the 3 year old little girl that had no hearing in either ear. After
getting her hearing aides for both ears, Praise has found that life is very different. Praise no longer is teased by other children. She can join into their activities and play with them just like any other child her age. She also has become more helpful to mom and dad because she can hear them when they ask her to do something. Her father puts it this way, "life has changed for all of us, and my wife Lillian is filled with much joy now." This family is grateful that God uses people to touch the lives of other people. In Romans 12:13 it says that we are to contribute to the needs of others in the family of God. I can say, there is a great reward in sharing what God has given to us with others in need. To whom much is given, much is required. My husband and I are blessed by the friendship of this beautiful family, who now is part of our family. We look forward to our trip to Kenya next spring to meet in person. There is a great deal of ministry needed in their small village, and we look forward to the challenges in our quest to serve those in need and minister to Jesus Christ Himself.

Being the hands and feet of Jesus throughout the world.
Bungoma, Kenya
The picture is of Pastor Richard, Lillian, and daughter Praise. They live near Bungoma Kenya which is on the western side of the country. During the summer I was told about a little 3 year old girl living in Kenya who was deaf, but if they only had $400.00 this little girl would be able to hear. When I thought about my own grand daughters, and what I would spend to make sure they could hear, I thought this was a small amount to pay. The Bible teaches us that "faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God". I believe that the Lord impressed upon me to invest into this little girl who would grow up to be a women of great faith someday. So New Hope For Women wired money to Pastor Richard and praise the Lord, the little 3 year old had her one ear fixed and will return to the hospital to have the second ear done in the coming weeks. Can you imagine the joy for this family, as they have prayed for a miracle for their baby and now she hears. She can hear the gospel, she can hear her parents tell her they love her, and she can hear someone yelling to her there is danger near. Pastor Richard pastors a small church in a remote part of Kenya, and they have many needs. Their church building collapsed after they had a storm, so a tarp hangs over bricks stacked on either side. But that doesn't stop them from meeting regularly for worship, and praising their King. Things we take for granted here in the states, like fresh water, hospitals, and doctors, jobs, even cameras and certainly no toys or athletic equipment for the children. When I asked Pastor Richard to send me some pictures, I never realized that he would have to pay a photographer just to send me some pictures on Facebook. They also have a small orphanage of 40 children that requires more funding than they have. I say small because many times these orphanages can have as many as 500 children. But to this church family, when you do not have the money, 40 extra mouths to feed is an enormous task. Hopefully I will be heading to Kenya in the spring with a team from my church. I am not sure what we will be able to do for these precious people, but I do know this, Matthew 25 says, "when I was hungry you fed Me, when I was thirsty you gave Me something to drink, when I was a stranger you took Me in, when I was naked you clothed Me. When I was sick you visited Me, and when I was in prison, you came to Me. When you have done this to the least of these, you have done this to Me". I am going to Kenya, expecting to have a glorious encounter with Jesus, and see how I might be able to minister to Him and His precious Body. I wanted to share this special family with you and would ask that you pray for them, their church and their community. In the spring of 2012 I will be visiting Pastor Richard, Lillian and Praise. I will also be going to minister to the women who prostitute themselves to feed their families, and those women who are incarcerated. Details will follow as we get closer to the date.
