Jesus is inviting us to come deeper into our relationship with Him at this time. If we want to leap into the excitement of the spiritual season of spring, then we must come to the secret place and spend time with our Beloved Christ and allow Him to whisper into our hearts the secrets of His heart. The Lord is calling us into an excitement with Him in a new season for the Church. If we would go deep into His heart and abandon ourselves to His love, He will lift us to new heights.
I have shared with you in previous posts my Journey of Love and the lessons I have learned from God along the way. I have learned so much of what it means to be Christ like.... but I have a LONG WAY to go. I long to hide myself in the secret place, and climb to the clefts of the rock which require my complete trust in the Lord as He carries me through the places of spiritual difficulty. It will be in these seasons that we will see the greatest transformations of our lifetime. We can't be content to simply be ourselves anymore, we need to allow Christ to have a bigger role in our lives in 2014! I think the way things are going in the world, we will need more of Him and less of ourselves to be able to stand firm! In the Beatitudes we are told, blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be satisfied. Being thirsty and hungry is a good place to be! While the rest of the world searches for meaning and purpose and comes up empty- those who are seeking all of God's righteousness are full! As I am sitting by the fire, I realize that keeping a fire alive requires a lot of attention. I must stoke it often, and add logs as fuel for my fire so that it continues to generate the heat necessary to warm our home. I am reminded of when Paul told Timothy in his second letter to "fan the flames". Paul knew that we can burn with passion for Christ one moment and then let the pressures and distractions of this world cause our fire to grow dim and in some cases go out. Therefore it is necessary for each of us to "maintain our passion for Christ" by stoking the fire with the Word of God, and by spending time in His presence. The fresh Wind of God's Spirit must continuously blow over us to bring a refreshing, a renewing and the power to sustain that passion. As the winter winds blow, may the flame within you for Christ and His kingdom be stirred up by the Mighty Wind of God. Let God overtake you this year, let His Holy Spirit fire consume you and allow His Father's heart to envelope you with His love. Do not settle for what was...instead, allow God to do a new thing in you and watch it spring forth in this new season of your life.
