The Thrash Family Visits NH4W

Kensington, Philadelphia -- James Thrash, #80 Wide Receiver from the Philadelphia Eagles, his lovely wife and adorable son came to New Hope For Women on November 18, 2003.

The Thrash family was interested in a tour of our facilities, learning about the history of NH4W and the vision. They learned of NH4W through mutual friends, who are also missionaries in Kensington.

After the meeting, Mr. Thrash spoke to our After School Children about God, how God has brought him to the NFL and how God uses him in the NFL. He shared about his experience with and without God in his life and told the children how much God loves them. He told the children that he would be lifting them up in prayer. He then opened the discussion up to answer questions from the children. The children asked him some good (and silly) questions and shared stories with him about their football experiences.

Everyone had a great time. JoAnn shared with the children that James is a very humble man who loves Jesus unashamedly. The children were so blessed, as were the residents of our program and our staff.

Mr. Thrash was invited to play for the Wheel Of Fortune NFL Charity week. The organization that he played for was NH4W. The show will air between January 5th & 9th. Tune in!!! We’ll post more info on our website as it becomes available. You will also be able to find more info on www.nfl.com as the air date draws closer.

We would like to thank the Thrash family for coming out to Kensington and our friends who coordinated the visit.
